This mashup player was created to allow the interaction of this musical NFT from September 2014.

Over the previous few years prior, especially noteworthy mashups were shared on facebook. Wanting to compile the various entries into one playlist, halluciphile amassed the links into one document and posted it on pastebin. Because the tracks had unique IDs generated, pastebin was used to generate an ID for the playlist in order to continue with the theme.

At the time, halluciphile had just begun registering punycodes, with just over 40 obtained, and wanted to explore other namespace possibilities using the same blockchain. While d/ is used to denote a domain, and results in .bit resolution, anything can be to the left of the slash to denote other projects. The intention behind choosing m/ for this entry was to experiment with the idea of Namecoin namespaces holding entries for things other than domains or identities. Music or Media was to be followed by the title or name of the token.

m/eow was chosen instead of using the pastebin ID as the entry on Namecoin entry as "eow" looks like a random string. Together, the name entry was chosen so that the whole thing could be read as "Meow Mix" with the pun intended.
